The outstanding and most famous of the Green Men in Norwich Cathedral. He has been mysteriously staring down for 600 years on those that walk, seen or not, below.There is a lot of conjecture as to who and what he was but I think it is safe to say his image comes from the pre Christian pagan era and because it is ubiquitous seems that his familiarity maybe made the new religion feel less mysterious. In the Cathedral cloisters the other bosses around him are mostly foliate before the Christian story telling bosses take over. To be found in the roof (about 12 ft ) at the bottom of the East walk in the Cloisters.
