I have been making Sculpture since I left Norwich School of Art in 1986. For the last 15 years I have only used stoneware clay and I am still growing into being a modeller…Clay is a slippery medium for sculpture but it can be done!
All my bosses and gargoyles are started in clay and while I’ve used other materials over the years temperamentally I am a modeller.
I am in my third studio (moved in Oct ’12) and love ‘running a workshop’, by which I mean I like to be able to take on any project large or small that comes my way… When I started out the aim was that my gargoyles and replica work would finance the workshop enabling me to make my sculpture and one way or another it has.
