In 2010 I was asked to make a sign for the newly completed Costessey Community Hall. It was agreed that the Stafford Knot (the Duke of Stafford had a hunting estate locally) as the Parish emblem would be a graphically strong image that all would recognise and identify with. Parish councilor Reg Piesse found a large diameter rope hawser and from this I made a silicon and G.R.P. mould. The resulting casting is in G.R.P , hollow and 7 1/2ft across. Mounted on 7 threaded fixings it sits 20ft from the ground and was installed by contractors in December 2010.
